About SGDAS
South Gloucestershire Drug and Alcohol Services (SGDAS) is an umbrella organisation which delivers drugs advice, counselling, treatment and information services for people living in South Gloucestershire through a team of providers including:
- DHI (Drugs and Homeless Initiative) -
- Assessments
- Counselling and structured day care
- Shared care
- Harm reduction advice and information
- Mobile needle exchange
- Outreach service
- Acupuncture and other holistic therapies
- Throughcare and aftercare, including accommodation support, employment training and education
These services are available in treatment centres in Warmley and Yate and through a variety of outreach services throughout South Gloucestershire.
- Addiction Recovery Agency
- Abstinence based residential and community rehabilitation
- Battle Against Tranquillisers
- Specialist service for people using tranquillisers, whether these are prescribed or not prescribed
- Bristol Specialist Drug and Alcohol Service (BSDAS)
- Specialist drug and alcohol service for people with more complex needs e.g. pregnant drug users, specialist prescribing, mental health, in-patient and community detox
- South Gloucestershire GPs
- Involved in shared care/GP prescribing schemes
- Walsingham House
- Abstinence based residential rehabilitation service
- South Gloucestershire Young People Drug and Alcohol Service
- Offers advice, information and support (both group and 1to1) to young people under the age of 18 who have problems with drug or alcohol use, their carers and family members
