South Gloucestershire Common Minimum Standards for dealing with Anti Social Behaviour

These common minimum standards are our promise to you as a South Gloucestershire resident.  They set out what South Gloucestershire’s Safer & Stronger Communities Partnership will do to support you if you experience Anti Social Behaviour.

South Gloucestershire is a safe place to live and work and we aim to keep it that way.  We are committed to improving our residents’ quality of life by working together to tackle Anti Social Behaviour across the district.  Our work is focused on supporting victims, witnesses and communities, but we also take enforcement action when necessary.

The partnership has established a minimum standard of response to all reports of Anti Social Behaviour, which is designed to complement the Avon & Somerset Policing Pledge.  The standards describe how we will take positive and effective action to deal with your local concerns.

We will ensure that:

1. All reports of anti-social behaviour will be taken seriously and we will treat all victims and witnesses fairly and with respect.

2. Victims of anti social behaviour who report an incident to the Anti-Social Behaviour Team or Police will be contacted within 24 hours but at the latest within 48 hours.

3. In cases of emergency, reports of anti-social behaviour received by another agency will be passed to the Police immediately.

4. Where it is not an emergency the person receiving your call will be responsible for ensuring that the information is referred to the relevant agency and will notify you of who is dealing with your complaint.

5. You will be allocated a named case officer and provided with their contact details. The case officer will be responsible for the investigation of your complaint

6. You will be kept informed in relation to the progress of your complaint and you will be contacted at least every 2 weeks.

7. We will provide support for all victims and witnesses.

8. All agencies will share anti social behaviour information and intelligence to ensure a positive and robust response to tackling ASB.

9. Communities will be kept informed of what is happening in their area.

10. Victims will have the right of complaint to the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP) when agencies fail to act and where the matter has not been resolved through the agencies normal complaints procedure.
