Advice, Information and Support for Young People

If you are a young person and you have concerns about your own or someone else’s drug or alcohol use it is important for you to know what services are available to help.

If you would like to talk to someone confidentially, either over the phone or face to face the Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Service are here to listen! We can offer advice, information and 1:1 counselling to any young person in South Gloucestershire who is under 18.

Call our young people’s drugs and alcohol worker on 01454 868763 (or text 07900 663994).  You can also email us at: ypservice@southglos.gov.uk - just copy the address into your email and send!  If you don't want us to reply to the email address you contact us from, please provide us with an alternative email or contact telephone number so we can respond to your question in confidence.

FRANK is a national helpline with trained advisors and a really good website. It’s a good place to start if you would like to find out more about the effects and risks of drugs or to have a confidential chat. Call 0800 77 66 00 or log on at www.talktofrank.com.  The FRANK website will provide you with honest, objective information which will allow you to make informed choices.

You may wish to talk to someone you already know, if so Connexions Personal Advisors, School Health Nurses and Youth Workers are also available to listen and provide you with advice and information on drugs and alcohol.

If you are 18 or over South Gloucestershire Drug and Alcohol Service will be able to help you to access advice, information and support.
