Your local Safer and Stronger Community Group needs you! 

South Gloucestershire’s 20 Safer and Stronger Community Groups are working together to help make the community you belong to safer and stronger.

The groups have been set up as part of the Neighbourhood Policing Model and South Gloucestershire Council’s Community Engagement.  Their members include people who live and work in the area and representatives from:

• Safer South Gloucestershire Community Safety and Drugs Partnership
• Police and PCSOs
• Avon Fire & Rescue Service
• Primary Care Trust
• South Gloucestershire Council
• Community groups and volunteers
• Town & Parish Councils

South Gloucestershire's Safer and Stronger Community Groups:

• work together to ensure that their areas are safe and pleasant places to live, work and play
• give local people a greater voice and influence over local decisions and priorities
• fund and support a number of initiatives that help the local community, such as shop-radio schemes, CCTV, young people’s and older people’s projects and community engagement projects
