Apply now for the first round of grant funding from the Safer and Stronger Community Groups Initiative Fund 2009/2010.
The application process is six monthly, making two phases for this financial year. Any under spend from the first round will be added to the resource for the second round.
The application process is open to:
• all voluntary and community sector organisations that are actively engaged with the Safer and Stronger Community Groups, (SSCG)
• the SSCGs for collective group action, and
• other group partners that support the delivery of actions identified by the SSCGs.

Our Safer & Stronger Community Groups have been set up as part of the Neighbourhood Policing Model and South Gloucestershire Council’s Community Engagement. Their members include people who live and work in the area and representatives from:

work together to ensure that their areas are safe and pleasant places to live, work and play

give local people a greater voice and influence over local decisions and priorities

fund and support a number of initiatives that help the local community, such as shop-radio schemes, CCTV, young people’s and older people’s projects and community engagement projects
